As mentioned in my earlier 'Blue Note' post, whilst researching Blue Note and their design (Reid Miles) i learnt that the label owner Francis Wolff was also a gifted photographer and took photos at every Blue Note gig for two decades. It occurred to me a couple of hours after learning this that I should probably do a google search of his name to see if I could find any large images of players for print (not sure why it took me a couple of hours, I'm going to put it down to a long day at Uni). Glad I did, I found some remarkable photos. Their not massive in size but they're better than most of the ones I've manage to find so far. Here is a small selection.
