Christiana Couceiro is a freelance illustrator living in Portugal. Her work reminds me of the early punk / zine cut & paste approach only with a much more sophisticated approach. Rather than embracing the chaotic, almost haphazard, approach of the punk decollage her work is much more considered and organised. It seems to be a mixture of DIY decollage and Swiss design of the early 50's. A great combination of approaches though the organisation of the compositions would not suit my Daily Mash work. This is because the Mash's journalism is cynical, almost biting at times and a chaotic approach adds to this feeling visually. Nevertheless, I can take a lot from her approach when thinking about overprinting and adding imagery to accompany type.
